Sharpcast Photo Sharing

Sharpcast at first appears to be another photo sharing site like Fotki or Flickr… and it is but with a couple of differences. First, Sharpcast does most of its transactions on your local computer; then when you connect to the Web it can do such important transactions as uploads, back up and syncing with your Web site content. Second, Sharpcast provides for group sharing of images and photos all in one album – and again the stealth syncing among group members of their shared images is largely done in the background. Finally, Sharpcast permits users to make connections to their mobile phones with images and albums.

Sharpcast is free to try and offers a variety of additional services including printing pictures and albums, online photo chat, and backup. When you move to the Premium plan at $64 per year users get unlimited photos at full resolution with backup plus discounts on printing. I think Sharpcast or a service like it will appear on social network sites like Facebook or You-Tube – the question is who will provide the service ? This is very good image sharing.
